***PLAY TIME*** 6 weeks old  -2/25/09
Like all our pups they love the little birdie...

As you see the pups have graduated to their bigger crate and play pen area next to our kitchen... They are trained to go to the bathroom in their box, makes it's easier to train them once they go to their new homes, they do not soil where they sleep or play....

The handle on the left in the trash can is our *pooper scooper*... we scoop every time they poop ;-)

We do not keep our babies in cages, they have plenty of room to run and play...
As they age the white box gets pushed to the left to give them more and more room. Baby Steps... 
These 6 week old girls have not gone potty on their right side crate/play area not once...

They are now completely weaned from mom and in our living room. This is their little pool till 6 weeks of age where they will be transferred to their Ex-Pen play area.... Our puppies do not touch the ground outdoors until they are vaccinated at 8 weeks old....

Nursing the babies 19 days old - 1/31/09

I am hands on with these babies since birth. Mom takes a break in the afternoon for a few hours and the babies hang out in their small container right next to me.  Dad happened to jump on the couch and I let him hang out with his kids.

Helping mom out with some bottle feeding... 
Babies are fun, but round the clock work... I do hold them while feeding, but wanted to get them all in the photos. The babies were eating up to 8 oz per feeding between them, this is besides the milk from mom. WOW that's a lot of milk if mom had to do it all. We help her out, just to take a load off, raising babies is not easy and can take a toll on mom, but we keep our bitches healthy and help them as much we can.... Foxy is only a 20lb dog herself and as you can see is very healthy and not scrawny or worn down like many bitches on pups. The babies are with mom at all times at this age, except when they are out with us while mom takes a few hours break in the afternoon lounging around and playing with the others... which she enjoys very much.

You heat in Microwave for 5 minutes, it stays warm for up to 12 hours.
Works great, nothing to plug in which equals = NO FIRE HAZARD and that is very important to me. The puppies are attracted to the heat obviously and move away from it when they are too hot.  Young puppies get chilly and can shiver after they eat, especially out in our open living room when we have them out here giving mom a break. I actually have them covered and hold the bottles for them, but I had to let them go and uncovered them for the photos of course :)  so I warm them up under the snuggle buddy after they ate. The "SNUGGLE BUDDY" are big stuffed animals where the pad goes inside a pocket you zipper up. We have both the black cat and white dog, but when you buy the pink "snuggle pad" that you heat, it comes alone with a fleece cover which is great size, it fits right in the puppy container when bringing them home after they are born. I can fit it in there after they eat or under their blankets. When they get a little bigger is when we use the "snuggle buddies" which they love to cuddle with, these are great when bringing your puppy home after they have been used to cuddling all the time with the siblings, they really enjoy these and I believe doesn't make them feel so lonely.
